Deon Stander
Deon Stander matriculated at Ladysmith High School in 1979. He also attended Dale College and Cambridge High School. From standard eight, he played first-team rugby for both Cambridge High School, and later Ladysmith High School.
He completed his B-Juris degree at the University of Pretoria in 1983, and the LLB degree through UNISA in 1997.
He commenced work as a public-prosecutor in 1986 at the magistrate's office in Ladysmith. He initially prosecuted in the District court, and later in the Regional court. In 1988 he became magistrate at Harrismith magistrate's court, and later was a magistrate at King Williams Town and Kathu. Whilst working as a magistrate he presided over both criminal and civil cases.
After completing his LLB degree, he decided to leave the state and become a lawyer in private practise.
Whilst practising as a lawyer, he has practised in various fields of law, and is able to assist his clients on a wide variety of legal issues. He now practises law from his practice in Berea, East-London.
In his spare time he enjoys fishing, diving and cycling. |
